Our focus this winter will be Ven. Pema Chodron's The Places that Scare You: A guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times. Here, Pema encourages us to continue to work to uncover our tender heart. “Here we are with so much wisdom and tenderness, and—without even knowing it—we cover it over to protect ourselves from insecurity. Although we have the potential to experience the freedom of a butterfly, we mysteriously prefer the small and fearful cocoon of ego.”
We're also pleased to announce that Ven. Amy Miller will teach a short series, Buddhism in a Nutshell, from her book and course of the same name. This will take place over four weeks beginning March 13th. Topics covered include the life of the Buddha, the four noble truths, steps on the path to enlightenment, and techniques to integrate Buddhism's many teachings into your daily life.
